Basics of subtraction
Subtraction is the process of subtracting one number from another. In other words, subtracting one from six yields a result of five. Subtraction is usually taught as a second operation in maths after addition in school.
Symbol recognition
As soon as the subtraction concepts are introduced we can start with symbol recognition. The Minus “-” symbol recognizes the subtraction. By seeing the symbol kids fix their minds that they are going to subtract one or more numbers. Another symbol you have to introduce is”=”. The answer we get after subtracting the two numbers is called the difference. The difference between the two numbers is written after the “=” symbol.
Category of subtraction
Subtraction concepts can be thought of by different categories. Picture subtraction, number subtraction, and my favorite is toys subtraction. Let’s see in detail.
