Internal organs fun activity for kindergarten kids

Kids are more anxious to know about what’s happening inside their bodies. There are lots of questions like how is this, what are these, and so on. When they want to know about their body there’s lots of confusion in them. They will be very keen to know how we breathe. How air enters our body?. How food gets digested in our stomach?. To make them understand let’s do some fun activities on how our internal organs function.

My heart activity

Things you will need

  • Chart paper
  • Pencil
  • Heart picture
  • Glue

Procedure

  1. The size of the heart is about the same as a closed right hand.
  2. Hold the pencil in your left hand. Close your right hand and outline it on chart paper.
  3. Now draw a heart inside the outline. If you are not good at drawing just stick the heart picture.
  4. Finally, pin the picture of your heart on the left side of your body

Let’s explore

To feel your heart, place two fingers on your wrist. Say “bum” each time you hear your heartbeat.

Conclusion

This is a simple activity for a kid to know about the heart. By doing this activity the kid knows the size of the heart is about the same size as a closed right hand. By pinning the picture of the heart on the left side of your body, they know that heart is on the left side of the body.

My lungs activity

Things you will need

  • Measuring tape

Procedure

  1. Get a friend to help you put tape around your chest.
  2. You breathe out and hold your breath.
  3. Tighten the tape around the chest.
  4. Now take a deep breath.
  5. As the air enters your lungs, your chest expands.
  6. You will see the tape getting longer.

Let’s explore

Breathing through the nose is healthy. When we breathe in the hair particles inside our nose filter the dirt and passes the clean air to our lungs.

Conclusion

This is a fun activity for kindergarten kids to know how our lungs expand while we breathe.

My stomach activity

Things you will need

  • Raisins.
  • Soda water.
  • Glass or bottle.

Procedure

  1. Take some raisins.
  2. Half fill a glass or bottle with soda water.
  3. Drop 3 or 4 raisins into the water.
  4. Wait for a while.
  5. The raisins will rise to the surface.
  6. Then they will sink once again.

Conclusion

From this activity, kids can know how food travels inside our body and get digested. The soda water acts as an acid. Raisins soaked in soda water rise to the surface and sink once again.

These three activities are perfect for a toddler to do by themself and explore what’s happening inside our body.
