While teaching this/that concept to kids make sure they understand the objects that are present far or near them. First, ask them several questions and explain to them whether the objects are far or near. For these /those they should know whether they are talking about one object or more than one object. Let’s see the points to remember for using this/that and these/ those.
This/That
Make sure the kids remember these points for denoting this/that.
- We use “THIS” for near objects and “THAT” for far objects.
- We use ” IS” for this /that.
- We use “THIS/THAT” for representing one object or thing.
- We use “THIS/THAT” for denoting the naming words( name, place, animal, things)
These/Those

- We use “THESE” for near objects and “THOSE” for far objects.
- We use “ARE” for these/those.
- We use “THESE/THOSE” for representing more than one object or thing.
- We use “THESE/THOSE” for denoting the naming words( name, place, animal, things)
