All people, places, animals, and things have a name. The words that we use for naming people, places, animals, and things are called naming words. Sometimes, instead of using the same naming words, again and again, we use words like “he, she, I, it, You” in place of the naming word.
He and She
There are some naming words that we use only for males and some naming words that we use only for females. Check the examples in the image given below.
We use “he” for males and “She” for females
Differentiate Gender
- For using He or She, the kid should know to differentiate the gender.
- Finger game: Write one thumb finger of ur kid as HE and another thumb finger as SHE. Now read out the word girl, king, sister like that the kid shows the thumb correctly. Keep practicing with so many words till the kid understand the gender.
- Matching the genders. Check out our matching worksheets for He or She.
I, YOU, IT
We use “I” and “you” when we are talking to people. We use “it” when we are talking about non-living things. “It” is also used for animals that do not have a special name.
Differentiate I, You, It
- Speech on Myself. Ask your kid to talk about themselves. Make sure they are using “I” when they are representing themself.
- Conversation helps kids to understand the difference.
